Throughout his professional life tenor 基思•琼斯 has brought distinction to his performances in opera, 清唱剧, 和独奏会. He has sung with Opera Omaha, Newberry Opera, Palmetto Opera, Opera Lite of Hilton Head, Indiana University Opera Theatre, Converse Opera, in Boris Goldovsky’s Opera Scenes Program with the San Antonio Young Artists Festival. He also has sung concert versions of opera 和 operetta throughout South Carolina 和 has performed on Three Tenors concerts with the Charleston, 哥伦比亚, 斯帕坦堡 symphonies.

One of the busiest 清唱剧 和 cantata singers in the state, Dr. Jones has been the tenor soloist for Bach’s St. Matthew Passion, St. 约翰的激情, Christmas Oratorio, 颂歌; Beethoven’s 第九交响曲 和 Missa Solemnis; Britten’s 战争安魂曲 和 圣尼古拉斯; Mendelssohn’s 以利亚; Mozart’s 安魂曲 和 Coronation Mass; Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610; Orff’s 《布兰诗歌Burana; Vaughan Williams’ Hodie 和 Serenade to Music; 和 Verdi’s 安魂曲. Dr. Jones has performed the tenor solos in 《布兰诗歌Burana 和莫扎特的 安魂曲 with the Prague Choral Festival, has sung the title role in Jesus Christ Superstar with Christ 和 St. Luke Episcopal Church in Norfolk, Virginia. His several dozen performances with the leading orchestras of the state 和 with the Piccolo Spoleto Festival have won him wide acclaim 和 the description, “a lustrous component of our musical life.”

Dr. Jones is Professor of Music at Converse, where he is a Professor of Music, Director of Choral Activities, Music Director for the Opera program, a past Music Director for the Musical Theatre program. His choirs include Converse Chorale, a women’s chorus for undergraduate students at Converse; 和 the 斯帕坦堡 Festival Chorus, a large mixed chorus of undergraduate 和 graduate students 和 community singers.

Major works performed by these ensembles under Dr. Jones’ direction include: Bach’s “St. 约翰的激情”, “颂歌”, “Mass in B-minor”; Brahms “A German 安魂曲”; “Britten 圣尼古拉斯” 和 “Ceremony of Carols: H和el Messiah”; Mozart’s “安魂曲” 和 “Mass in C-minor”; Orff 《布兰诗歌Burana; 和 Pergolesi Stabat Mater. Dramatic works performed at Converse under Dr. Jones’ direction include: Copl和 The Tender L和; H和el Alcina; Humperdinck Hansel 和 Gretel; Mozart Cosi fan Tutte 和 The Marriage of Figaro; PucciniGianna Schicchi, 《波希米亚, Suor Angelica; Purcell Dido 和 Aeneas, Strauss Die Fledermaus 和 The Merry Widow. Musicals under Dr. Jones’ direction include A Little Night Music, Urinetown, Little Women, Godspell.

Dr. Jones is also the Music Director at Central United Methodist Church in 斯帕坦堡, where he directs the Chancel Choir.
